HomeThe Master BBQ School is designed to help all cooks acquire new BBQ skills or improve their current outdoor cooking techniques. The home-study course teaches the major BBQ cooking formats including direct/indirect grilling, rotisserie cooking, and slow-wood-smoke cooking. Students score their own cooking and appoint Personal BBQ Judges who also score the meats. Students must complete all 24 exercises and answer a quiz for each of eight lessons. The Score Sheets and Exercise Reporting Forms are sent to us to evaluate. Completion of the course is required within one calendar year after we receive your first lesson. Graduates receive a Master BBQ Cook Certificate and ACF chefs receive a letter approving 48 hours of Continuing Education Credits. The Master BBQ School is approved by The American Culinary Federation (ACF) for 48 hours of continuing education credits for ACF chefs. The Master BBQ School is the only BBQ correspondence school in America that has this approval. ACF, is the professional, not-for-profit organization for chefs and cooks founded in 1929 in New York City. More than 10,000 certifications have been awarded by ACF in the last 25 years at five different levels, from certified culinarian to the prestigious Certified Master Chef (CMC). More than 12,000 apprentices have been enrolled in the last two decades by ACF-approved supervising chefs in ACF-sponsoring houses.
